I absolutely love travelling, the aeroplane rides, going through customs, and overall just going to new places. Over the years I have learned new tips and tricks to help me get all through the long flights. So, whether you are travelling in a few months, weeks or leaving tomorrow and haven’t even started packing yet. I hope that this post will help you get ready for your adventure to come!
Let’s start with fun stuff first, the things that keep you entertained. Something to drown out the plane chatter when you are trying to sleep and something to do while you start to stir crazy is your uncomfortable plane seat. For me, HEADPHONES are the ultimate lifesaver. I personally prefer headsets over earbuds partly because my ears get very sensitive on flights. And jamming out to music takes my mind off the fact that I am thousands of feet in the air. So there is always that, but I continually make sure I have a brand new Spotify playlist ready to go for my flight.
If you are like me, the very first thing I do once I go through customs is buy a pack of gum and a bottle of water. I honestly do not know what I would do without those two things. Firstly, I buy gum because my ears pop like crazy once we are up in the air. Also, you can not go wrong with gum, if you give me a pack of spearmint gum I will love you until I eat it all.
Water is super important for me on flights because my mouth tends to get really during the flight. It also helps me stay awake and hydrated which is always a good thing. Because I drink water like a fish, and there is nothing wrong with that…right?
Also, I love munchies. Banana chips, bits and bites are always in my carry-on bag. Partly, to help me avoid falling face first into the in-flight Pringle containers. It does not always work but at least I try right?
last but certainly not least, clothing. I know you all want to look good in the airports but, when you are sitting on a plane for multiple hours in a cubical of space. Go for comfort, not style. you will thank me in the future. I always wear leggings, a tee shirt with a big sweater and always shove fuzzy socks inside my carry-on bag. Because you can never go wrong with a good pair of fuzzy socks.
Those are some things that make the overall flight experience easier and more enjoyable for me. I am thinking about making this a theme posting little blog post about travelling.

I have never been on an airplane before, so I know when I do one day I should be prepared as much as humanly possible 😛 I have heard airplane has recycled air, so the chances are my skin would end up feeling drier than it has ever been before! I agree about water, so I should definitely do that 🙂 I am not sure if I should also take a face mask and put it on when on the plane, or I should wait to get to my destination and then put a face mask on after the airplane? Uncertain.

I drink water because you are always in a rush getting bags, catching flights, and going to new places that you forget to drink water. But, I don’t find that it makes my skin dryer during the flight it’s like sitting in a chair for a very long time. So, I personally wouldn’t worry about bringing a face mask on the plane, but it might affect you differently. And they might also confiscate it because you can’t bring any liquids through security! -H
