Can You Outgrow People?

01.08.2017 by Hayley // 19 Comments

Every 7 years all of our cells have been replicated. A whole new you. Every seven years you change.

When I was little I had a purple sweater, this sweater was the cosiest, warmest, and softest piece of material you have ever felt in your whole life, and I loved this thing to death. It was decorated with light purple stars that showered the whole front and back while having a small zipper at the top. I wore it EVERYWHERE my dad would have to pry it off me just to wash it. But as I got older that sweater became a bit shorter and a bit tighter but, I still loved it but maybe a little less.

By the time I was 7 I couldn’t wear it anymore, I couldn’t even get it over my head and when I did it didn’t even go past my belly button. So my Dad took me to the store and bought me a new one, It was sea blue that had a full zipper with a fleece lined hood. I didn’t think I could love this sweater like I loved my purple star one.

But as time passed I learned to love it just as much. Looking back at my favourite sweater, it was sometimes a little scratchy and looked a bit ridiculous. And maybe just maybe this sweater was a lot like people, could you outgrow them too?

Can you outgrow somebody? What I have come to realise is that half of my friends I thought I would have until my wedding day don’t even cross my mind, no texts, no hugs in the hallway, they are just there. Nothing bad happened, no fight we just outgrew each other.  You don’t mean to, but you become a new person and value different things over time. Some people grow faster than others but we all change. YOU are not a bad person for outgrowing your friends you just drift apart. And sometimes it is for the better.

Every 7 years, all of your body’s cells are replicated and you restart. I don´t know everything I am still only 16 and I still have a lot of learning to do but, this is just what I have noticed in my 16 years. I saw this idea in Zoella´s novel Girl Online and this is just my opinion on the topic because it really spoke to me.

Give me your thoughts in the comments below, Have you outgrown people too?

Until next time

-Hayley

I would definitely recommend WordPress, it is what I use for my blog and I love it. They are a lot of different options for designs and layouts so I am sure you will find one you will like. If you need any more advice please don’t hesitate to ask me! -Hayley
